Team Lutheran proudly announces "one of our own" is competing in the Olympics!

Elana Meyers, of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Douglasville, is a member of the U.S. Olympic Bobsled Team and we all could not be more proud of this young lady and wish her the very best.

Cheer her to victory by watching the event on NBC on February 23 and 24. The full bobsleigh schedule and photos are posted online for your reference and viewing.

Thrivent initiates new award: The "CRESP"
Charitable - Religious -
Educational - Social - Patriotic

On Friday, November 13 we are conducting the first ever Thrivent Financial for Lutherans CRESP Award ceremony at the Emory Conference Center in Atlanta. We are honoring seven members of the greater Atlanta Lutheran community who were nominated by the Thrivent Representative for their area. By the extraordinary lives these ordinary people lead they exemplify the good accomplished by Thrivent members in the community. As a fraternal benefit society Thrivent is called by its charter to support the standards of Charitable - Religious - Educational - Social - Patriotic. For this the award has been named The C.R.E.S.P.

Ordinations & Installations

The Southeastern Synod of the ELCA invites you to a Service of Installation for the Rev. Terri Stagner-Collier on Sunday, February 28, 4:00 PM, Cross of Life Lutheran Church, 1000 Hembry Road, Roswell, GA 30076. Pastor Stagner-Collier is being installed as senior pastor of Cross of Life Lutheran Church.

Your prayers and presence are requested. A reception will follow the service. Clergy and rostered lay people are invited to process. The liturgical color is purple.

Retreat Lake House For Rent

I'm part of the Christian singles group spearheaded by folks from Christ the King in Norcross. One of our numbers, who is from Trinity ELCA in Lilburn, owns a cabin on Lake Sinclair which has been the site of one of our singles' activities for the past 3 years. It has 2 bedrooms and one bath, with a queen-sized bed in one bedroom and two twins in the other, with a couch in the bedroom with the queen bed. The cabin could sleep up to 8 comfortably, and is on a quiet cove of Lake Sinclair and away from the main boat channel, so there is very little traffic and would be ideal for small retreats.
